About Cold Training

Is cold training dangerous?

Cold training is a very safe and healthy sport if done properly. But, alike every other sport, this sport is not without risks. If you fail to pay attention to basic safety and focus rules you can harm yourself. Therefore, we focus on 'safety first' in our approach to spread the method.

Why should I practice cold training?

Cold training is, among other things, a workout for the immune system. This is a benefit that you can't get from other types of sport.

Am I too old for this kind of training?

There are older people who use the cold regularly for a short training session without any problem. Very often, though, these people have been practicing cold training for a longer period of time already. If you are new to the sport, we highly recommend consulting your Doctor first and working with a professional instructor before starting.

What is so special about cold training and what is this hype all about?

Cold training is nothing special. Humans had to endure severe cold periods throughout their existence. Only in our recent history have we become so accustomed to being in ourcomfort zone all the time that exposing oneself to the cold voluntarily seems like a strange idea. If you look at the teachings of Kneipp, it becomes obvious that cold training has been around for a good while, though. Recently, the sport has gained a lot of attention through the Wim Hof Method. This can be seen on Youtube, blogs, podcasts and other form of social media.
